Safeguarding

We are committed to providing a safe environment and culture for children and vulnerable adults in all of our church activities.

All staff and volunteers who work with young people and vulnerable adults are recruited according to our Safer Recruitment Policy (please click here to view). This includes an up to date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) certificate, and they are required to undertake appropriate training with the Diocese of Portsmouth and receive certification at the completion of their course. The procedures and practises of Safeguarding are managed by our Parish Safeguarding Representative, Mike Gaskin (contact on 07734 325284).

We work closely with the diocesan child and adult protection team led by the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer including guidance if you are concerned that a child or adult who may be vulnerable has been harmed or is at risk. The Parochial Church Council have a Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy which is regularly reviewed, is published in our church porches and can be seen in full here….
